DC Composites has one of the largest thermoforming machines in the South East. Our capabilities are 8’x8’ and a Z (vertical) in the range of 40”. Our machine is A/B mold press capable. This allows us the ability to do very complicated parts. We can thermoform ABS all the way to composite materials such as LWRT(Lightweight Reinforced Thermoplastics) mostly seen in new automotive headliners. Headliner and upholstered compression molding is our specialty.
The tooling for thermoforming is all done in-house. If you need help getting set up to run parts many of our clients require cooling in their molds which can be added if needed. For R&D or extremely small runs, we can utilize wood molds to shorten up the tooling process.
